Teething

This may begin as early as two month but the average is approximately four months of age. The baby will be fussy, drool and rub his gums. Very mild temperature elevations (no more than 100.5) have been associated with teething. Contrary to popular belief, teething does not cause high fevers. The two middle teeth on the bottom are usually the first to come in. Tylenol drops every four hours will help to relieve teething discomfort. Medicines you rub on the gums (Oragel, Ambesol, etc) are usually only effective for a short time. A teething ring or pacifier may be helpful.
